Adoption Profile Assistance
The IAC Center has developed a unique profile assistance program to meet the expressed needs of our clients who are pursuing domestic adoptions with agencies and attorneys. This program is designed to help you prepare an adoption profile that will work to connect you with prospective birth parents.
What makes the IAC Center program unique?
You probably feel quite anxious about being selected and at the same time have little or no real understanding of why expectant women choose to place their babies for adoption. You may even be considering creating a profile that uses the same templates and adjectives as the other ones you saw at your agency or on the internet. Many people do this but the resulting letters are notoriously awkward, frankly rather sanitized and at times even disingenuous. These kinds of profiles are of no comfort to birth parents that are looking for real people with whom to entrust their baby.
Your IAC Center Profile Advisor will take time
to get to know you; to learn what it is that will set your profile apart from the others; and to help you to create a unique profile that will help a birth parent to select you. In addition, our profile advisor will educate you as to how birth parents generally think and feel, but to always stay mindful of the fact that each birth parent is an individual who deserves real information in making one of the most major life decisions a person or couple can ever make.
How do we get started with the IAC Center Profile Program?
The IAC Center has created a simple, step-by-step process to assist you in writing your profile.
To get started with the program or if you have any questions first, contact the IAC Center Profile Advisor Lindsay Conover, LSW at lconovermsw@iaccenter.com. She is able to work with you in person and/or on the phone; and these meetings will be easily supplemented by the sharing of materials via email.
